Summer, 2006, town outskirts:
17-year-old Nelly’s life revolves entirely around her mother Silvia and the unsuccessful chewing gum vending machine business they run together. Silvia, in contrast to her daughter, does not want to see the hopeless end of the business, despite her growing rejection of it. When Nelly meets the runaway Monique, she wonders for the first time whether there could be another life for her.
